Great campsite with wonderful views. Nice camping sites and free wood. Host was amazing. Easy to get to the town which offers a lot. Great stop as you travel this highway.
Great campground in the heart of Smithers, BC, next to the river. The sites are large and most feature full hookups. Not much "privacy" between campsites. Free showers are clean & water is hot. Great playground for the kids. Host/Manager is always available-answering questions, looking to solve problems before they arise. Greeted quickly. Free firewood is a bonus. Campground could benefit from more 30-Amp serviced sites, maybe gravel sites to identify the place to put your camper-as it is now, mostly grass and some people park left or right side of the site which could put campers too close? And of course the grass will suffer. Concrete pads for the picnic tables requires investment-but that keep people from moving them around and would certainly protect the wood table legs from the damp grass? Anyway-I would stay here again!
Really great for a municipal campground. Site attendants were helpful and the firewood is free! Great view of the river and access to nearby trails and services.
Campground was very nice but we tried to book a power site and we're told it was first come first serve. So we stayed the night thinking we could a power site the next night. When I asked I was told to wait and see the next day. The next day I watched 3 units pull out and talked to one who was heading south. So we asked again and we're told the sites were all reserved? Guess she didn't want us to stay another night. Just as well, we found a much better place with very accommondating host.
We called ahead and were told there were only 2 power sites available, but it was first come first serve. When we got there a couple of hours later, there was reserved signs on about 6 powered sites and we were told no power sites were available. We asked for a power site for the next day and saw 3 empty spots first thing in the morning. When we asked if we could move to one of them, the campground attendant told us those were reserved but she didn't have the energy to put out signs yet!! Needless to say, we left and found a better spot with more honourable hosts.
